Oxford United

I am really looking forward to watching the mighty yellows this season. Since the end of the season, before Michael Appleton left to join Craig Shakespeare at Leicester City he managed to convince Scott Shearer. Charlie Raglan and Fiacre Kelleher to join the club. Once he left, Pep Clotet has come in and United have signed, Mike Williamson, Dwight Tiendalli, Jon Obika, James Henry, Xemi and Jack Payne.

In the friendlies Pep Clotet has been mulling over giving contracts to Furdjel Narsingh, Raheem Hanley, Josh Smile, Sam Shaban and more recently Leandro Cobas-Ladrero. Decisions are apparently going to be made in due course.

This morning the shirt numbers were revealed. Dwight Tiendalli is #No3, Mike Williamson is our new #No4, Jack Payne is our new number #10, Scott Shearer #13, James Henry #17, Xemi Fernandez #19, Jon Obika #20, Fiacre Kelleher #26.

The new first team professionals.. Manny Agboola, Shandon Baptiste and Malachi Napa have been handed shirt numbers: 40, 37 and 36.

Looking at our team we currently have 4 goalkeepers; Simon Eastwood, Scott Shearer, Jack Stevens and Manny Ogboola.

On Saturday I reckon that Easty will be starting with Scott Shearer on the bench. I have a feeling that once Sam Long and Josh Ashby are fit, they will go out on loan with Roberts, Stevens, Agboola, Napa and Baptiste. Will they go to local clubs such as Didcot Town, Banbury United and Oxford City?

I guess my questions will be answered soon. Will Aaron Martin go out on loan or will he have to fight for a place in the team? How long will it take for the team to fire on all cylinders?

How many away fans will be at Oldham Athletic?
