Eastleigh vs Chester

This afternoon the Spitfires took on Chester in the vanarama conference at the Silverlake Stadium. In the 1st 10 minutes Eastleigh started the brighter and should have been 1 nil up when the offside flag was up.

Green and Stern combined well but the defence of Chester defended well. Chester got into the game and pounced on Eastleigh’s sloppiness. City’s pressure paid off when Kane Richards jinked his way into the penalty area and finished calmly to make it 1 nil in the 20th minute against the run of play. Reda Johnson was using the far touch line instead of sprinkling the ball to Luke Coulson who was in acres of space. No wonder clubs are looking at him, he’s got bags of pace and likes to show his skills.

I didn’t think Mikael Mandron can play up front by himself.. He needs a strike partner in Jai Reason or James Constable, he looks much better playing off someone.

At half time it was Eastleigh 0 Chester City 1.

Fair play to the fans in the Community stand as they never stopped showing support for the blue and white army. In the 72nd minute Chester were 2 nil up through Durrell as Scotty Brown failed to get a convincing hand on the ball after his heroic penalty save. Eastleigh looked lerthargic and some of there passes went to City players which led Jordan Chappell the easiest run of 10 acres to finish in the 90th minute. Why didn’t James Constable or Jai Reason come on?

Full time Eastleigh 0 Chester City 3.

On Tuesday night Eastleigh travel to Maidstone United. Can they get back to winning ways?

Come on the boys in blue!
