In the summer, England, Wales, Northern and the Republic of Ireland go to France to play in the Europeon Championship. In Wales you have Gareth Bale who’s club side Real Madrid are under investigation by Spanish officials. At the time Gazza left Tottenham Hotspur for Real Madrid in a club record fee of £86 million. It sounds like an official will be in the dock trying to plead innocence. What’s going to happen if the official pleads guilty? Fine? Ban? Anyway, I’m really looking forward to the home nations battling it out with the likes of Germany, Italy, France and Spain. Astonishingly Holland aren’t traveling to France as they didn’t qualify.
Who will Roy Hodgson pick for the trip? Dele Alli? Harry Kane? Jamie Vardy? With Frank Lampard, John Terry and Steven Gerrard retiring from the international scene.. I’d like to see: Joe Hart, Jack Butland and Frazer Forster battling out for the jersey. In defence I would take, John Stones, Phil Jagielka, Chris Smalling and Gary Cahill. Will Luke Shaw be fit enough? He has been very unlucky as he is currently out of action due to a broken leg. In midfield I would take, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Raheem Sterling, Theo Walcott. Will Hodgson take the more mature duo in James Milner and Michael Carrick? In attack I would take Jamie Vardy, Harry Kane and Wayne Rooney. I think that Rooney’s form for Manchester United has been poor – are his best days behind him or can he still do a job? What will happen to Daniel Sturridge, Calum Chambers and Danny Welbeck? I’m unconvinced that they should go as they have only just come back from injury. The manager has tough decisions to make. I reckon that youth is the best way forward.
Has Robbie Keane retired from international duty? Will Spain pick up the trophy or will France win something for the first time since 1998? I’m really looking forward to the summer tournament.
Come on England!!
